Atlanta has a strong technology sector and school system that prioritizes STEM. a widening opportunity gap, in a city with a majority Black and female population that has rising unemployment. Since 2023, TKH has built a program with the support of local community organizations, schools and elected officials. We currently have three staff members based in Atlanta.

Digital Literacy Program

Tech Empowerment Day

Unlocking Career Potential with Digital Skills

Participants Will Learn To:

  • Develop foundational digital skills
  • Grow critical tech skills for the workplace
  • Get a hands-on introduction to coding
  • Explore tech career pathways
  • Work with community members and tech industry professionals
  • Overview and Q&A session for the 2025 Innovation Fellowship

Learn in a judgment-free zone. Computers will be provided for use.
Refreshments & lunch will be provided.

Qualifications to Join

Possess a high school diploma or HSE.

Be proficient in written and spoken English.

Have an interest in exploring careers in technology.

Earn less than $55,000/year.

Be available for the full day of the event.

Be a resident of Atlanta authorized to work in the United States of America.

This free, one-day event aims to empower young professionals and career changers interested in developing digital skills for the workplace and learning more technology careers. Participants will learn about tech career pathways, develop digital literacy skills for the workplace, get a hands-on intro to emerging tools like AI, and network with community members and tech industry professionals.

Interested attendees will be priority applicants for the 2025 Innovation Fellowship, a free 12-month job training program that prepares participants for the competitive tech industry.

Each Tech Empowerment Day is from 10 am - 4 pm, followed by networking and priority Innovation fellowship application until 5:30 pm.

The Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship

This 12-month program trains high school youth in foundational coding and design, explore STEM careers and complete industry-facing internships or apprenticeships.

Eligibility: Currently enrolled in high school as a sophomore, junior, or senior, be a resident of New York, Newark, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

The Innovation Fellowship

This 12-month program aims to serve 18+ adult job seekers from diverse backgrounds and trains them in 4 tracks: Data Science, Cybersecurity, Web Development, and UXUI Design.

Eligibility: Ages 18+, household income under $60,000, and be a resident of New York, Newark, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.
