The Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship is a 12-month program that starts with paid, virtual summer training and is followed by monthly career & college access workshops and coaching. Graduates receive support with obtaining internships and gaining access to college STEM programs. The Fellowship is free, and participants are given a stipend during summer instruction.
Fellows will use industry-standard technologies to learn how to create a brand, understand selling, create a proper wireframe, learn basic HTML & CSS coding, and more. The Fellowship will support participants in securing summer internships and admissions to college STEM programs.

Priority is given to non-white, foreign-born, or first-generation Americans.
Be a resident of New York State, Newark, NJ, Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, CA, or Washington D.C./DMV area
Be 18 years of age or older by the start of the program
Make less than $60,000 a year or less than $55,000 in Atlanta and Washington D.C./DMV area
Possess basic computer literacy skills (typing, internet research, email, etc.)
Proficient oral and written English
Possess a high school diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE)
Authorized to work in the United States

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship:
Be a New York State, Newark, Atlanta, or Los Angeles resident.
Possess basic computer literacy skills (typing, internet research, email, etc.).

Be a current high school sophomore, junior, senior, or actively enrolled in an HSE or credit recovery program.

No. The Fellowship aims to serve youth from diverse backgrounds with little or no technical experience.
The fellowship is a year-long program with six weeks of technical and career instruction in the summer, followed by monthly workshops and check-ins (10 workshops for the year).
As a fellow, you may receive the following:
A laptop and Wi-Fi on an as-needed basis, to use for the duration of the program.
Incentive stipends.
Assistance with securing summer internships and admission to college STEM programs.
As a Fellow you will receive the following:

College preparation and application support.
Resume and cover letter assistance.
Best practices for establishing a LinkedIn professional presence.
Networking and communications skills training.
Fellows will need a laptop and Wi-Fi access to participate successfully in coursework at home.
